Where Oh Where Are You Tonight...

...yeah, I know, cheesy lyrics from an old song that was popular on the TV show Hee Haw. So have I lost my mind? I think so, but it could be that I'm just over tired.

Things here at Casa Lesperance have been turned a bit upside down. Most of you know we take care of our little Witchling Ravyn while Momma Tanya works. Well, the store where Tanya works has gone under some improvements, like torn down, build a brand new store type of improvements. And since she can't work in the construction zone, she's been liberally *assigned* to a coupe different places in her *district*, until the new store opens, that date has yet to be determined it keeps changing LOL! As a result, the hours we have Ravyn have gone from 2:30ish PM - 11:30ish PM Thursday through Monday off on Tuesday and Wednesday to OHMYGODDESSIdon'tknowwhatthehellmyhoursare!

This morning I was outta my bed at the gawdaweful hour of 3:30AM!! AND it looks like it's gonna be early like this for at least the remainder of the week... and possibly into next week too.

Yes, Witchling goes back to sleep for a few hours as soon as Momma is out the door, and I go back and try to get a few more minutes of sleep myself. I'm just not too good at sleeping with the baby here. Jimmy does help. However, by the time Tanya gets off and gets here to pick up Ravyn, all I wanna do is shower and find my bed.

I'm rambling...and I apologize! The entire point of this post was to let you all know, I *may* not be here as much for the next couple weeks. I need to use what ever brain cells are left at the end of the day to do my school work so I can maintain my grades. And do the normal chores one does as a SAHW&Gma, laundry, cooking, dishes...etc.

Anyway, I'll be checking Facebook and trying to at least answer messages. If you have my cell phone I can always answer a quick text. If ya don't have it, PM me on FB and I'll give it to ya if ya want it.

I've Been Tagged!!

And I didn't even know it til I tried catching up on all the posts I've missed this last week. My darling friend Shauna over at  Musings Of A Magical Mom tagged me in the post she wrote last Sunday January 8th. Boy do I feel silly, I'm a week behind. Anywho, here's how it works...

The 11 Questions I've Been Asked to Answer:

1. What inspired you to start your blog? (copied from my Circle of Mom's 25 Mom's of Faith bio)

     I was having a very difficult time with seasonal depression while we lived in Michigan. I tried everything I   had used before but nothing worked. SO a friend suggested I write my life story down. I did this, but kept in a word doc and never published it for anyone to see. I found BlogSpot through my gmail account and began just posting some of my favorite poems and humorous stories. I'd add a personal entry here and there but didn't keep up with it on a regular basis. A couple years ago, a friend in the Pagan Book club I attended "challenged" me to write at least 500 words a day, from that challenge my Blog was born. I don't write as often as I want, but post an entry when I can get the time to sit down and put the things running around in my head into words.

2. Do you have any pets?  If yes, what are they?

     I have 2 furbabies, poodles, Chaos and Calliope. They are my sanity when things become hectic and my light when my world grows dark

3. What is your favorite sport to watch, and what is your favorite team?

     I'm not much into sports at all. I sometimes watch the football playoffs, and the Super Bowl. Occasionally I'll sit with Jimmy for a few minutes when he has a hockey game on. I don't watch hockey, I can't focus fast enough and the puck makes me crazy!

4. Who is your favorite actor/actress?

    Jennifer Tilly and Sean Connery... can we say HOTTT!!

5. What is your all-time favorite movie?

    I have too many to name just one, but I absolutely MUST watch White Christmas every year. And yes, it still makes me cry...

6. What made you choose your screen name?

     My screen name is one of the Magickal names that chose me. It's taken on a life of it's own and in some circles I'm only known as Aoibheal

7. Which culture in the world is most fascinating to you, and why?

     I'd have to say the ancient Celts. I'm drawn to all things Celtic and this is the path I began my spiritual journey on. I love the stories about the Celtic creation and the Gods and Goddesses of Celtic lore.

8. What is your favorite comfort food?

     LOL! This is a loaded question...Dark Chocolate, tea and my home made chicken pot pie...

9. What is your favorite memory with your best friend from childhood?

     My BFF from HS gave her horse peanut butter, that was the funniest thing I have ever seen!

10. If you could only watch 1 TV show, which one would it be?

      Private Practice on ABC Thursday nights

11. What is your favorite time of year and why?

      Fall, I love the crispness of the air, the colors of the falling leaves, and the general excitement of harvest time and preparation for the cold weather that's coming.

I Don't Make Resolutions...

Every year at this time, all my friends, people I barely know, and those I don't have any idea who they might be, all jump on the bandwagon to make their New Year's Resolutions. I don't. The last time I made a New Year's Resolution I knew before I had finished saying it out loud, I wasn't going to follow through and keep it. So instead, I try to make choices and goals. Realistic goals...things I know I can control and do my very best to accomplish.

My goals for 2012 probably seem familiar as some of my friends have chosen to implement them for their own use. I can't say whether or not they will be adhering to their plan. All I know is I absolutely MUST do everything in my power to reach these few things before the end of 2012. So keeping that in mind here is what I plan to do to make my coming calender year as successful as I possibly can:

I WILL loose 79lbs. Yeah I know, an odd choice for the number of pounds I want to loose, huh? Here's the deal. I currently weigh 204lbs, and my *ideal* weight, the place I felt the most comfortable, the most healthy, what most of my *Dr's* have recommended, and was able to walk around the block without fear of a heart attack is 125lbs. I'm 5'-2" and anything heavier than about 130, makes me have problems with my knees and back.

(This is me this past summer on one of the trips to Myrtle Beach... I weighed in at about 220lbs. I could barely walk across the dunes to reach the beach, which as many of you know is the place I *recharge*. There wasn't alot of recharging going on this summer. I was too miserable and too out of shape.)

I've researched so many different weight loss programs, from Weight Watcher's to South Beach Diet, Nutrasystem, to Atkins and everything in between. Either I can't afford the cost of the *program* or in the case of the Atkins diet, it contains too much fat for me. Let me explain...

In March of 2002, I woke up to excruciating pains in my stomach, pain so bad I fell out of my bed and couldn't stand up. Then came the nausea and vomiting. Jimmy ended up taking me to the ER where they promptly hooked me up to a morphine drip and told me I was going to need emergency gall bladder surgery. I went for the ultra sound and was then told I was lucky my gall bladder hadn't ruptured because it was *full* of gall stones. Back to my cubicle and in comes the nurse with forms to sign. When I got to the one about insurance, and I told them I didn't have insurance, they promptly began to back pedal and decided I didn't need the emergency surgery after all. They put me upstairs in a room to *monitor* me for 24 hrs and then they would decide the next course of action. Sometime around 4pm the next day I was really getting pretty bored and hungry, they hadn't given me anything to eat because they didn't want to *irritate* the situation. I finally told my nurse I had had enough, send the Dr to see me, I want to go home. He did come in to see me when he was in on rounds and brought the hospital nutritionist/dietician with him She gave me this diet/meal plan to follow and told me IF I followed it I *should* be OK until I could get health insurance. So off to home I go with diet and a prescription for Vicodin in hand...

This diet/meal plan consists of less than 50gms of fat per day along with a 1200 calorie diet. Needless to say I wasn't too convinced about all this, but I took the information and went home. The next day, we went grocery shopping, let me tell you I have never in my life read so many labels for nutrition information. It took us almost 2 hours to shop. I lost 45lbs on this plan. I wish I had stuck to it...

BTW, I STILL haven't had gall bladder surgery.

Yes, I know, I am 10 years older. I don't know of any rule/law that says I can't go back to the weight I feel the best, most active, and most healthy at. So I'm going to begin reading nutrition information and labels once again and I WILL loose 79lbs within the next 365 days. I began this journey today! I'm not crazy, I know it's going to be long and hard. Mostly because we don't have the area to safely do any type of walking, and I can't afford a membership at Bally's or something like that. In AZ we lived in an apt community that was gated and had walking paths, along with an exercise room. My plan is to walk as much as I can and then supplement my *work out* with a wii. Eventually I plan to get the wii *fit* and be able to begin some yoga training too.

So there you have my first step in my quest to find myself. I have plans to do some deep soul searching, I want to really dig deeper into my spirituality and I will be working more closely with my Totems. It's going to be a busy year in self improvement, but I feel confident and am very excited to see the results.
