It's Almost Over

Just 2 more days! This class is kicking my ass. And it's not because I don't know the material or the software we are required to use. My problem is with this instructor.

Every week for the past 5 weeks she has posted our assignments and I've made sure I READ EVERYTHING, however, I've had this feeling after assignments are posted she goes back later in the week and adds things to the assignment. Like for this week, we are doing our research paper, and have actually been working on it since week 1. I have read and re read the instructions over and over and over, and each time there is something different posted. Yesterday when I went to make sure I had all the elements included in my paper, I find we are supposed to incorporate an Excel spreadsheet in our paper. THIS WAS NOT THERE IN WEEK 1 or 2 or 3 or EVEN LAST WEEK.

How can I be *sure* I wasn't overlooking something? Because I copied and pasted the assignment into a Word Doc so I would have it available in order to work offline. After 45 mins of being logged in to the classroom, you are automatically *timed out* and need to log back in. Since this class and this particular assignment has been the most challenging, I started making a *hard copy* of my assignments.

OH well, as far as I'm concerned, my assignment is complete. I can't do anymore, it's making me CRAZY! I have met all the Grading Rubric requirements (except for the Excel spreadsheet), 9 pages APA formatted, including Title and reference page, embedded images, proof read, all the I's are dotted and the T's crossed. Indented and cited. That's JUST the paper. Then we have the 10 slide PowerPoint presentation that accompanies the paper. Which BTW, was part of our discussion question last week. We uploaded the PP to our *chat* server for peer review... (I got a perfect score on this one).

After all is said and done this week, I'm just hoping for a passing grade in this class. I sure ain't gonna have an *A*, that was screwed during the second week. But that's a different subject all together.

Let's just say the end of course survey we as students do after each class is going to be THE most detailed survey with lots of entries in the note section that I've done so far... C'mon Tuesday and Eng122 English Composition II...

  1. Vickie I wish it was not this difficult for you with this teacher.
GRR makes me mad thinking she is giving you such a hard time.
Taking a deep breath now and releasing it.
Vickie will be okay it is my mantra right now.

I am a bit scared of the response to the survey.
I know the wrath of Vickie.

    LOL

BE nice now or as nice as you can be in it.

    1. I'm just gonna list in detail all the crap we've been through with this instructor. I've kept a list in a Word Doc for everything that has either changed at the last minute or she didn't make clear to begin with. I don't know if my comments will have any impact on her being able to teach, but I can surely hope so. She honestly doesn't need to be teaching anyplace and I don't care how many MicroSoft certifications she has...

Thanks for your love and support! It means A LOT to me!! <3

    1. Stevie, I have had no problems with my previous classes, and I LOVED each of the instructors. The discussion questions are enjoyable because it's like we are in an actual classroom, we have gotten into some pretty heated debates, LOL!

I'd have to be delusional if I even hoped for an *A* at this point, I know it's not gonna happen, so all I can do is pray for a passing grade, chalk this class up to experience, and move along all the while remembering the things I learned to do and NOT to do in this class.

      Thanks! Love you bunches too!!

  3. If she's going to change the requirements for the assignment, you should be notified of those changes. People are not mind-readers.

    1. Debra you are correct, she *SHOULD* have to notify the class, but evidently she thinks she is above all that crap. And I can honestly say, I am not the only one who has had problems with her and her teaching method in this class. I wish I could give you log in privileges so you can see all the comments on the boards from the other students about her and the way she presents the information and assignments.

Ah well, it's over now. I just submitted my FINAL discussion question response and assignment, the research paper and PowerPoint presentation. I'm not even gonna log back into that class until late next week and then to just get my final grade. Keep your fingers crossed I get a passing grade...

      Lots of Love!!

  4. This year I've been blessed with great professors, but I can't say the same about the people with whom I've been herded for group work. My gods, why are people so freaking lazy and wait until the last damn minute to do everything!?

I hope your next professor is super!

  5. Power to you for keeping up and kicking ass! It sux when you don't get along with the instructor, for whatever reason. It used to distract me too much. Hang in there and like the Magaly said, hopefully then next one will be better!
